Purpose & aims of school project
Experiencing Community Cohesion through the theme of identity and belonging.
The children will explore the theme of identity and belonging using storytelling exercises and role play. They will share ideas about what it means to belong in their own schools; and Year 6 students will feel more confident about joining Mulberry and what it means to be a ‘Mulberry girl’. Year 6 and 7 students learn from religious stories about identity and belonging; and they develop a greater sense of pride in being a member of their school and community. The children have recorded their evaluations through a range of media

Mulberry School for Girls is a community school with over 1,400 young women aged between 11-19. The school is located in the east end of London close to Whitechapel and Shadwell. It is in the heart of Tower Hamlets' multi-cultural community but also on the edge of the City of London. Most of the girls in the school are from Muslim backgrounds.
St Paul's Whitechapel Church of England Primary School
St Paul's Whitechapel Church of England Primary School is a voluntary aided mixed primary school with just over 200 pupils. The school serves a culturally diverse community just to the east of Tower Bridge. Virtually all pupils are from minority ethnic groups and nearly two-thirds are from Bangladeshi backgrounds. Very many have a home language other than English and many later arrivals speak little English.
Shapla Primary
Shapla Primary School opened in Wellclose Square in 1987. It is a one form entry primary school over just over 200 pupils and caters for pupils from a wide range of social backgrounds who live in and around Shadwell in Tower Hamlets.
