Purpose & aims of school project
Experiencing Community Cohesion through faith and cultural exchanges between majority and minority ethnic groups.

Allowing the majority ethnic group within the school to share their beliefs and understanding with ethnic minorities in the school through shared activities (including sport initially).To tie this in with teaching about identity through a faith exchange between ICHS (multi-cultural)and King Solomon’s High School (Jewish faith) & Year 8 project with St Bonaventure’s, Newham Asian/ Black pupils thus sharing identity and beliefs.

Ilford County High School is a four-form entry secondary grammar school for boys. Originally one of a number of selective schools in the outer London Borough of Redbridge, ICHS was retained in 1973 as the only boys’ selective school in the area. There are currently 855 pupils on roll including 245 in the sixth form. The school celebrates its cultural diversity, with 87% of its pupils coming from an ethnic minority background
