Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School

Purpose & aims of school project
Experiencing Community Cohesion through work with the physically disadvantaged

Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School produced a short 3 minute film which presents a paradox - that the ‘weakest members’ of the group – disabled children – are the cohesion between a variety of other groups such as teachers, students, parents, special schools and the Cardinal Wiseman school. The film offers an insight to other schools the unique role of a faith school in promoting religious values which develop cohesion amongst a range of different social groups. It also highlights the work of the Handicapped Children’s Pilgrimage Trust project as an example of how such a project can bring together a variety of groups of people within the community. Accompanying the film are project notes.
